Groupe Procycle founded in 1977 is the most important manufacturer of bicycles and fitness equipment in Canada. PROCYCLE is certified ISO 9001 since 1996.

Historical and realizations :

1971
Beginning of bicycle assembling in Saint-Georges de Beauce. The company hires about 40 employees who assemble approximately 30,000 bicycles during the first year.
1974
Acquisition of Velo Sport Inc. and distribution of PEUGEOT bicycles imported from France.
1977
PROCYCLE begins to manufacture and paint its own bicycle frames. The company triples the plant's surface area and the number of employees grows to 90.
1978
PROCYCLE signs an agreement with Peugeot France to obtain exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute Peugeot bicycles in Canada.
1982
PROCYCLE purchases the assets of C.C.M. (Canada Cycles and Motor Ltd) which is the oldest Canadian bicycles' manufacturer (since 1899).
1983
For the first time, bicycles are exported to the United States.
1988
PROCYCLE signs an agreement with Peugeot Cycles, France, for the transfer of technology procedures of the "Direct Brazing System" (DBS).
 
PROCYCLE grants to Mach 1, a French company, the manufacturing and distributing rights of a machine used to assemble wheels (RSA).
1989
PROCYCLE is a finalist in the ''INNOVATION'' category of the 1989 Mercuriades organized by the Quebec Chamber of Commerce.
1994
Expansion of the factory to 180,000 square feet. PROCYCLE is the winner of "VISION 94" given by the Order of Chartered Accountants of Quebec for its economical performances.
1995
PROCYCLE receives the Vendor of the Year Award 1994 from Canadian Tire Corporation. Introduction of the Oryx mountain bike line for the first year. The plant expands to 203,000 square feet.
1996
PROCYCLE now rides with 450 employees. The 5,000,000th bicycle is manufactured. The marketing for the MIKADO's touring line is a success. First bicycle manufacturer in North America to get ISO 9001 certification. Acquisition of BODYGUARD FITNESS, a high-end workout equipment manufacturer.
1997
PROCYCLE acquires ROCKY MOUNTAIN BICYCLES (high performance manufacturer) based in British Columbia. The unique Canadian high performance manufacturer to use powder coat painting process.
1999
The 6,000,000th bicycle, a CCM Legacy, is manufactured on April 7, 1999.
100th CCM anniversary and the The 30th Bodyguard anniversary.
Bodyguard wins "Product Design and Innovation Award" for its treadmill MAGELLAN and the "Gold Award" is given to Rocky Mountain Bicycles pour its RM9.
2000
Bodyguard Fitness received the "Best Customer Service Award" given by the Health & Fitness Expo. This means that Bodyguard Fitness offers the best customer service in all fitness industry.
2001
Introduction of MIELE bicycles and Velo Sport et Peugeot's brand abandoned.
August 2001 - Customer Service Award given by Health & Fitness Expo and Business Center.
